25/10/20 ^^^Establishing the Expert Mind

As much as I had been cultivating the Beginner's Mind throughout my life, I have to admit that having too many possibilities does not lead to a conclusive outcome.  While it is good to start with a Beginner's Mind, in the end, it's the Expert's Mind that *[moves] moves us from strength to strength.

* We need to be decisive with our actions.

A Beginner's Mind only lays out the options.  It is not meant for us to proceed with a decision.  To do that we need the Expert's Mind; firm is firm, emptiness is emptiness.

How long do we need to subscribe to a Beginner's Mind?  The answer is as long as it takes to come up with as many options.  Once you have established that, you need the Expert mind to move with certainty.  Once decided you may not even think about the options anymore.  You just do.

This is known as Mushin No Shin, the Mind of No-Mind.  I want to move with certainty.  Thus I cannot have many possibilities at this point.  I cannot be thinking in terms of what if all the time.  Either go or no go.

As of now, I will go ahead with my Personal Flight Path.  That is certain.  That is the Expert's Mind.  I can take control of that Path, where else the Primary Flight Path is a big question mark for me.  I cannot have two contradicting paths considering one is certain and one is not.  Therefore I decided to forgo the one that is not certain.

The Personal Flight Path only requires me to be persistent and committed.  Of course, I need to overcome the adversities that come with it.  I am not sure if I can overcome those adversities.  As it is, the odds are stacked against me.  Nevertheless, I will not have to carry the burden of not knowing what the future holds.  I will not have to laden myself with Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt (FUD).  All I got to do is stay on course.

That surely feels light.  FUD is really an energy zapper.  At present, I need to stay sharp.  I cannot afford to have distractions.  To pierce the pinhole of Mushin No Shin, I need to remain focused.

The fewer the distractions the better.  Bear in mind that I am pursuing Athlete4Life.  It is a journey towards personal enlightenment.  It doesn't concern others.

Beyond merely talking about the whole thing, I need to put my thoughts into action.  I need to do [] (that).  From many minds, I need to funnel my thoughts into only one mind, the Mindset of a Champion.
